Happy New Year!
We are opening 2017 with news of success for St. Louis County. This announcement aligns with our One Plan for Regional Prosperity, which is a people-first approach to economic development to make our region a more attractive place for all people to live, work and invest. With the support of our Regional Investors, we are able to focus on executing our strategy so that we may bring you results-based announcements such as this one.
Today, Governor Jay Nixon announced that CliqStudios, the nation’s largest online retailer of semi-custom kitchen cabinets based on revenue, is expanding to open a new design center in St. Louis County. This $1.95 million expansion to Creve Coeur, will also create 98 new high-wage jobs in the St. Louis area. CliqStudios chose St. Louis over Cincinnati, OH for the expansion due to our talented workforce, available real estate and the overall cost of doing business. This project is quickly moving forward to accommodate the demand of services that CliqStudios currently offers.
The company, founded in 2010 and based out of Minnetonka, Minnesota, allows customers to remodel their homes through the website, CliqStudios.com. Customers work directly with designers in the design center to create a new layout for their kitchen using semi-custom kitchen cabinets. The cabinets are shipped, factory-direct, to the customer which results in faster service and significant savings to the customer.
This economic development win could not have been possible without the Missouri Partnership and St. Louis Economic Development Partnership. We want to extend our congratulations and thanks to Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger for their support and leadership. Finally, I want to congratulate Lori Becklenberg, the St Louis Regional Chamber’s Director of New Business Development for her project leadership with CliqStudios.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working together for results in 2017!
