To celebrate the rebirth of St. Louis’ fashion scene, the St. Louis Regional Chamber hosted its Connect at event at the Saint Louis Fashion Fund. Located in the historic Garment District on Washington Avenue, the Fashion Fund is revitalizing the local fashion scene and helping designers launch successful careers with its signature program, the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator.
Attendees from all walks of life strutted down the red carpet, perused racks of clothing, and sipped on “the Zipper,” the event’s signature drink named for the iconic zipper design built into the Washington Avenue corridor.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet the Saint Louis Fashion Fund’s Executive Director, Eric Johnson, a few of the Incubator’s inaugural class of designers, and models wearing pieces from the designers’ collections. Reuben Reuel, one of the six designers, told the crowd that St. Louis is a perfect fit for his label and the larger fashion community.
Not to ignore the existing fashionistas in St. Louis, the Chamber held a fashion contest amongst the guests. Winners received a bag filled with items from the Saint Louis Fashion Fund.
Overall, the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator is a prime example of the creativity and energy in our city’s innovation ecosystem. The St. Louis Regional Chamber is thrilled to be able to show people through its Connect at event the cataclysmic work the Fashion Fund is creating in St. Louis.
