Public Policy Council

The St. Louis Regional Chamber’s Public Policy Council is the primary advisory group guiding the Chamber’s policy development activities for the St. Louis region. The Council advises the Chamber’s Executive Committee and staff on matters of public policy and meets regularly to discuss regional, state, and federal issues relative to the Chamber’s mission.

Missouri and Illinois Public Affairs Networks

Meeting monthly throughout the year, Public Affairs Networks members hear from influential business, civic, and policy leaders on issues at the forefront of local, statewide, and federal legislative debate. This coalition engages with our advocacy efforts by participating in direct advocacy and special Public Policy events.

Public Policy Speaker Series

Periodically throughout the year, we invite business, civic, or political leaders to speak on topics that are at the forefront of national or local debate. The 2019 Speaker Series has included: 

  • A transportation and infrastructure roundtable discussion with Congressman Rodney Davis (IL-13) and Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06)
  • A presentation during Navy Week with Navy Admiral Thomas Moore, Missouri Governor Mike Parson, and St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson

Missouri and Southwestern Illinois Lobby Day at the Capitol

We take a delegation of our members, civic leaders, and business representatives to Jefferson City and Springfield to advocate for regional prosperity and the Regional Chamber’s policy priorities. During these trips, we meet with top legislators, policymakers, and members of the executive branch.

Arch to the Hill D.C. Fly-In

We take an exclusive group of business and civic leaders to Washington, D.C. where we meet with the St. Louis region’s federal delegation and various agencies to advocates for regional prosperity and the Regional Chamber’s policy priorities.

Bi-State Softball Showdown

We invite members of both the Missouri and Illinois legislatures for a friendly game of softball at Busch Stadium to promote bi-state cooperation and collaboration. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to meet political power players from both sides of the Mississippi River while enjoying a night at the iconic Busch Stadium.  

Chamber Champions Awards

Every year, we recognize the service of members in the Illinois and Missouri General Assemblies and acknowledged legislators who exhibited outstanding dedication and support for our legislative priorities.
