Governor Mike Parson signed the largest workforce bill to come out of the General Assembly this year, HB 2046. The workforce package included three Regional Chamber Public Policy priorities: licensing reciprocity, the Fresh Start Act, and the Expanded Workforce Act.
At a time when thousands in our region are unemployed, this legislation increases access to jobs and reduces red tape. HB 2046 allows skilled workers to achieve success in the state with barriers, it expands opportunities for non-violent offenders, and offers apprenticeships as a pathway to work.
On Friday, Missouri Governor Mike Parson, bill sponsor Missouri Representative Derek Grier (R-Chesterfield), Regional Chamber President & CEO Tom Chulick, incoming Regional Chamber Board Chair Ken Cella, and members of the Regional Chamber’s Executive Committee and Public Policy Council gathered for a ceremonial signing at the Regional Chamber’s headquarters.
